The arrangement
Everything about the commercial model, on one page
Written so that you can check it rather than take it on faith.
The path an enquiry takes
What happens after you press send
It reaches one agency
Your enquiry goes to our partner travel agency in Kenya. It is not broadcast to a panel and it is not sold on.
A person reads it
A specialist reads what you wrote — including the free-text box, which is usually the most useful part — and checks genuine availability for your dates.
You get an outline and a price
Within 24 hours: named camps, a route, and an itemised cost. Not a brochure and not a price range.
You change it, or you do not
Most itineraries go through two or three revisions. Nothing is held and nothing is owed until you say so.
They run the trip
The agency holds the bookings, takes the payments and looks after you from the airport pickup to the flight home. We are not involved in that, and cannot be.
Where the money comes from
If you book, the agency pays us a commission out of their own margin. That is the entire income of this business. There is no advertising on any of the fifty sites, no affiliate links, no paid placements and nothing sponsored.
Camps hold rate parity, which means the price of a given camp on a given night is the same whether you reach it through the agency, through us, or by writing to the camp yourself. So the commission does not sit on top of your price — it comes out of theirs.
The obvious conflict, stated plainly
We are paid when you book, so we have an interest in you booking. The protection against that is not our good intentions — it is that a guide which oversells gets found out, and a network of fifty of them gets found out fifty times.
The practical test: we will tell you when a trip you have described will not work well, when your dates are wrong for what you want to see, and when a cheaper camp is the better one. If we never did any of that, you should stop reading us.
The editorial rules
- No invented reviews. If a testimonial appears on any of our sites, a real person wrote it and agreed to it being published with their name.
- No invented credentials. We do not claim licences, memberships, awards, years in business or numbers of travellers we cannot document.
- No promises about animals. Nobody can guarantee a river crossing, a leopard or a gorilla family in good light. Any site implying otherwise is selling.
- Ranges, not fake precision. Published costs are marked as indicative planning ranges. Your quote is the exact number, itemised.
- We say when something will not work. In the first reply, not the third.
What we do with your data
Your enquiry goes to us and to the partner agency, and to nobody else. We do not sell, rent or share contact details, we do not run advertising trackers on any of the sites, and you can have everything we hold deleted by asking.
The full detail is in the privacy notice, which is written to be read rather than to be compliant-looking.
In their words
What travellers say
No reviews are shown because none have been supplied yet. Add them to
shared/placeholders.mjs → testimonials, using the traveller's real
name, month of travel and written permission. This block renders automatically once the
array is non-empty. Nothing invented is ever published here.
